“In-Kind” Donations You can help someone toward a brighter future. Many of our program participants are in great need of personal items and Community Outreach Services gladly accepts these “in-kind” donations. In-kind donations can be items such as clothing, household items, non-perishable food, and other non-monetary items that can help someone start fresh. Your sofa, dining room set, end table may no longer fit your lifestyle, but it still has a lot of love left to give. Why not donate it to a good home, instead of putting it out to pasture? Please help us preserve the dignity of our program participants by only donating clean items in good condition. Anyone willing to donate can also give "in-kind" donations ... this includes professional services (your time), appliances, equipment, and materials. A partial list of “in-kind” donations needed are:
Carpet Tables Desks Flooring Chairs Mattresses Recovery Books Clothes Washers Paint Cabinets Clothes Dryers Lamps Kitchen Appliances Fitness Equipment Furniture
Volunteers Volunteers at Community Outreach Services all share one common desire - to help and to give of themselves. For many, it is simply being a friend, sharing a talent, lending a hand with paper work, or taking a part in other activities in support of the recovery of our clients. There's always room for another caring heart. Our requirements are simple. As representatives of Community Outreach Services, we ask that all volunteers adhere to the same high professional standards expected from our employees which include:
Maintaining a high degree of client confidentiality, including refraining from talking about clients and their conditions. The client's right to privacy is an essential, critical right demanded by our profession. Making a specific commitment of time, generally a minimum of three hours, one day a week. This may vary according to the particular volunteer placement. Flexibility in scheduling is available for vacations and special leaves of absence.
For more information about volunteering telephone us toll free at 866-522-1195 or at 386-737-0420, Ext. 104, or you can email us:
