Family Services

 

The purpose of Family Services is to provide a safe and caring environment in

which participants can gain insight into the effects of chemical

abuse/dependency and/or negative behavior on all family members and

begin to experience the benefits of healing and recovery.

 

Community Outreach Services recognizes chemical abuse/dependency as a problem that affects all persons involved with the chemically dependent person.  This includes family, friends, employers and others who may be a

part of the dependent’s person’s life in recovery.

 

Community Outreach Services offers a program designed to educate the family members and/or significant others about the disease of addiction, as well as the process of recovery.  We encourage participation in Al-Anon, Nar-Anon and other 12-Step recovery groups for family and friends, to be a part of the educational and recovery process.

 

The Family Services Program covers many topics, not the least of which is the

Disease Concept of Addiction and Codependency.  Those in attendance will learn to

recognize their own enabling behaviors as well as behaviors that may be anticipated from the chemically dependent.  The groups address survival roles in the family, the process of intervention,

relationships, feelings, boundaries, the physiological aspects of Codependency,

and many other issues related to the recovery of the family as a unit as well as

recovery for the individual.

 

Chemical abuse and dependency affects everyone in our society today.  Learn

how to be a part of the solution and become involved in your loved one’s recovery

(and yours, it’s your life too).
