Outpatient Services

The ultimate goal of our Outpatient Treatment Services program is to help those Volusia County residents

in need to attain long-term abstinence from drugs and alcohol. This is achieved by educating and treating

clients so that they may re-enter society and lead responsible, successful drug and alcohol free lives

by using our proven tools of recovery.  We recognize and fulfill each client’s needs by helping them

attain a thorough understanding of themselves and the recovery process.

Community Outreach Services has hired Spanish speaking counselors for our Deland

 and Deltona offices in response to this unanswered need in our community.

Substance abuse services are expanding in the Deland/Deltona area and we believe that much

more can be accomplished for the Hispanic community through further outreach on

Volusia County’s west side.

Fees are calculated using the 2008 Department of Health and Human Services Federal Poverty Guidelines.  To be eligible for the minimum co-pay, the family or household income must be at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Level.  The most current tax form, W-2, pay stub, etc. is used to determine income.  Information must be provided for all members of household or family.  If income is above lowest guidelines, client still may be eligible for discounted services.

There is currently no wait for Outpatient Services, and should the need ever arise in the future

 the list is managed on a first come first served basis with consideration given for urgency and need.

Assessment Services:

The client and treatment professional meet to determine the need for treatment services and the

possible course of treatment at Community Outreach Services or another agency.

 Usually 2 hours by appointment.

Outpatient Intervention Services:

Psycho-educational group instruction and discussion as to the affect addiction has on the clients and

others lives and the path to recovery. One and one half hour groups meeting 1 day a week

for 12 weeks. Support group participation is required.

 

Outpatient Treatment Group Services: Mostly psychotherapeutic interaction, with some educational instruction, in support of individual recovery from addiction. One and one half hour groups meeting 1 day a week along with scheduled individual sessions for 12 weeks. Support group participation required.

Prevention Services:

For non-addicted family members of an addicted person. Group sessions with both instruction and

interaction to help the family members understand the effect of addictive behavior on the family,

themselves and others.  Focus is on their own recovery from this family disease along with

support of the alcoholic’s/addict’s recovery.

Outreach Services: 

Outreach Services focuses on those who are hard to reach or hidden and possibly not in contact

with other services.  Community Outreach Services has hired Spanish speaking counselors for our

Deland and Deltona offices in an attempt to reach these underserved and at risk populations in

our target populations.

Aftercare Services:

  The counselor is available to provide assistance with discharge planning and

aftercare services.  Community Outreach Services also offers additional services to transition

patients back to everyday life or assist them in finding help in the community from the network of

service providers.
